Your Friend in Reykjavik · Ingolfstorg, downtown bars
Two and a half hours from 6 PM in three downtown bars, Skuli, Session Craft Bar and Olstofa, tasting Icelandic craft beer (or local spirits) with a guide who tells the story of beer in Iceland. Pick it after a food walk, not instead of one.

This is the beer tour from Your Friend in Reykjavik, the company behind the traditional tasting tour. It starts at 6 PM outside Hlollabatar on Ingolfstorg and visits three bars: Skuli Craft Bar (45 minutes), Session Craft Bar (50) and Olstofa Kormaks og Skjaldar (45), where it ends. You taste a range of Icelandic craft beers, or local spirits and schnapps if you prefer, and learn how beer in Iceland went from the Vikings to today.
One guest counted nine beers over three pubs and mentions a self-pour tap at one stop, and two guests say the guide brought small snacks to pair with the beers. It is not a food tour. At $125 it is the cheapest drinks tour on this site.
The minimum age is 20, Iceland's legal drinking age. Departures need at least two guests: if the minimum isn't reached, the tour is cancelled with a full refund. The listing says it is not wheelchair accessible unless booked as a private tour, and not recommended for pregnant travellers.
Outside Hlollabatar, facing the square and its stone pillars.
The first round on Adalstraeti.
The longest stop, about 50 minutes.
A last round on Vegamotastigur, where the tour ends.
