Nordic Nonsense · Hallgrimskirkja, downtown Reykjavik
Four hours from Hallgrimskirkja down to Austurstraeti with a Nordic Nonsense guide, eating at a bakery, a bistro and the hot dog stand and drinking Icelandic beer along the way. Pick it if you want a long, sociable evening that replaces dinner and a bar.

Nordic Nonsense is a Reykjavik company, and some guests were guided by one of the owners. The walk starts in front of Hallgrimskirkja, behind the Leif Eriksson statue, and runs downhill along Skolavordustigur into the centre. At four hours it is the longest tour on this site, and one guest timed theirs at about 3.5 hours.
The itinerary names five stops: Kofinn (45 minutes), the BakaBaka bakery (20), the hot dog stand Baejarins Beztu Pylsur (20), Tivoli Bistro (an hour) and Jungle Cocktail Bar (45), where the tour ends on Austurstraeti. Food tastings, Icelandic beers "from breweries around the country", coffee or tea and water are included. Guests mention fermented shark, the baked goods and a cocktail at the end, and non-drinkers got a mocktail.
Two caveats. There is a lot of standing and talking: one August 2026 guest found it too much history and too long on their feet, and waited in line for the hot dog. And it is 18+ only. The regular price is $200; Viator showed it at $170 in October 2026, so check the live price for your date.

★★★★★Book this tour! It’s the perfect mix of great food, local knowledge, and delicious beverages. Jon was informative, funny, and made the whole experience really enjoyable.
★★★★★As non-alcohol drinkers we still loved trying the local beers (passion fruit and coffee were our favorites) and the mocktail we got at the end was wonderful!
★★★★★The food stops were varied with ample drinks and local delicacies. We booked a 4:30 pm walk which easily took the place of dinner.
★★★★★As someone traveling solo, I definitely was nervous but Svenni was a great guide and did a great job keeping us all engaged. [...] Would absolutely recommend solo or not!
